How to Setup an Intrusion Rule (IP5M-1190W)

Intrusion allows the camera to trigger an event if an object appears or crosses a set intrusion area set by the user. For more information on how to set up an intrusion rule, please refer to the information provided below.

Setting Up an Intrusion Rule

Step 1: Log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here

Step 2: In the web UI, click on Setup>>Event>>Smart Plan. Click on the IVS icon and click Save. 

Note: If a Smart Plan is not enabled properly on your camera IVS features will not work. Please make sure to enable the Smart Plan feature before continuing. 

Step 3: Click on the IVS option in the Event menu then click on the ( + ) icon to add the rule. Select Intrusion from the Rule Type menu.  Then click on Draw Rule to begin drawing the detection area on the interface. Use your mouse to draw the area. Right-click on the interface when done to set the area. 

Note: This rule requires you to draw at least a four-point area on the interface to function. To draw an area, click the mouse on the interface and move it down or up to create a line. Once the line is created, move the mouse left or right to create another line and repeat the process. Right-click on the interface to set the area on the screen then left-click on the interface when done to set the area. 

Step 4: In the Direction menu, choose how the rule will be triggered if the object enters only, exits only, or enters & exits a set region. Enable the Alarm Track option if you would like the camera to automatically track the object after it has triggered the rule. The camera will track the object for 30 seconds by default or until the object is no longer detectable by the camera. 

Step 5: Enable the Record checkbox to record the event. Click Save when done. 

If you would like the siren and the spotlight option to be activated when the rule is triggered enable the Siren Activation and the Spotlight Activation options. 

Note: To have the event emailed to you, click on the Send Email option. Please make sure email alerts have been set up on the camera before enabling this feature. For more information on how to set up email alerts, click here.

The intrusion rule has now been properly set up for your camera. The target filtering can be used to refine the set rule however for an optimal experience it is highly recommended to leave these settings as default. All IVS data can be viewed in the Playback menu if a microSD card has been installed, emailed.
