How To Set A Smoking Detection Rule On An Amcrest Thermal Camera (TC-1241EW-AI)

The smoking detection feature allows the camera to detect whether a human in detection area is actively smoking or about to smoke (using a lighter) in the area. Please note, this is only applicable to the thermal channel of the device. Once detected an alarm or notification will be sent. Select a channel and ensure a Smart Plan has been activated in the Smart Plan menu for smoking detection before proceeding.

Step 1: Log into the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here.

Step 2: Navigate to Setup>>Smart Thermal>>Smoking Detection. Click Enable. 

Step 3: Use your mouse to adjust or drag the detection area on the screen (4 corners of the area). Select any additional options such as send email, siren, or warning light that will be activated once the rule has been triggered. Click Save to apply the rule.
