The main difference between an Amcrest AI NVR (network video recorder) and a EI NVR would be in its performance. An EI NVR is a type of NVR that uses Enhanced Intelligence (EI) technology to help improve the performance and effectiveness of its security features.
This could be for features such as face detection and recognition, perimeter protection (IVS), people counting, etc. It can also help to reduce the number of false alarms by more accurately detecting human or vehicle events using smart motion detection 3.0. EI NVRs are also known to support features such as ANPR for license plate data and retention where traditional Amcrest AI NVRs cannot support this feature.
For more information on the features supported by EI NVRs please refer to the information provided below.
Smart Motion Detection - Smart Motion Detection (SMD) uses an advanced algorithm to differentiate between human and motor vehicle shapes within a scene and send alarms only when a person or vehicle is detected.
ANPR - ANPR allows the user to sync vehicle block and allow lists as well as view license plate data if a license plate reader camera is applied to the NVR.
Heat Map - Heat map tool is used to determine the overall crowd flow (density) over a certain amount of time in a specific area Heat map provides a color-coded layout of the density with red being the highest level to blue which is the lowest level.
People Counting - People counting is used to provide a statistic based on the number of people who enter and exit a certain area.
IVS - Provides advanced perimeter protection options such as tripwire and intrusion. IVS features can be controlled by the NVR or by the camera directly if using a smart plan. The NVR has 2 built-in IVS features available (Tripwire and Intrusion) whereas some Amcrest AI cameras may have additional IVS features depending on the model of the camera.
Face Recognition - Face Recognition is a built-in AI feature that is used to locate and determine facial similarities detected by the system. Images are registered in a face library, by the user, and accessed using the face recognition smart search tool that is built into the NVR.
Face Detection - Face detection is used to allow your device to detect face events. This feature can be used either by the NVR or by the camera (if supported).
