How the AI Features Work on an A2 DVR (AMDV5M32)

The AI menu allows the user to manage and view artificial intelligence and face recognition information and settings. AI features available on the device can be controlled either by the device or via a connected AI camera depending on its features.

This article will cover the basic setup of the AI features included with your DVR. This includes features such as Face Detection, Face Recognition, IVS, and Smart Motion Detection (SMD). The AI menu allows you to modify AI features as well as store and access AI events using Smart Search.

Please be advised, face detection and face recognition cannot be used simultaneously with IVS or SMD and supports a max of 2 channels. If enabling IVS or SMD, please make sure that face detection and face recognition are disabled.

Face Detection

Face detection is used to allow your device to detect and record face images and events. Please note, face detection cannot be used simultaneously with features such as IVS, etc. however, can be used with Face Recognition and SMD. For more information on how to use face detection, click here.

Face Recognition

Face recognition is used to locate and determine facial similarities detected by the system. Images for face recognition are registered in a face library, by the user, and accessed using a face recognition smart search tool that is built into the DVR. Please note, the DVR can support a max of 2 face detection & recognition channels. For more information on how to use these options click here.

IVS

IVS stands for intelligent video system analytics and is primarily used for parameter protection. The DVR currently has 2 built-in IVS features available (Tripwire and Intrusion). For more information on how to set up IVS events, click here.

SMD

Smart Motion Detection (SMD) uses an advanced algorithm to differentiate human and vehicular shapes within a scene and send alarms only when a person or vehicle is detected. For more information on how to set up SMD events, click here.
