How To Upgrade The Firmware On An Amcrest DVR (AMDV5M8, AMDV5M16, AMDV5M32)

This guide will walk you through the process of upgrading the firmware on your Amcrest DVR using two methods: USB and Web UI (Web User Interface). Method 1: Updating Firmware via USB

Note: A USB drive with at least 1GB of storage capacity. A monitor must be applied to the DVR to view the device. The latest firmware file for your Amcrest DVR (downloadable from amcrest.com/firmware)

Step 1: Extract the downloaded firmware file onto the USB drive. The firmware file is usually in a .bin format. Safely connect the USB drive to your Amcrest DVR's USB port.

Step 2: From the main menu click on Maintain. Click on Manager>>Update, then click Update to locate the firmware file. 

Step 3: Locate the firmware file on your USB drive and click OK. 

Your DVR will restart once the upgrade is complete.

Method 2: Updating Firmware via Web UI

Note: Download the latest firmware file for your Amcrest DVR (amcrest.com/firmware) to your computer. Ensure the DVR and computer are on the same network while upgrading.

Step 3: Once the file is selected and imported into the interface, click update to upgrade the DVR.
