How To Use Floodlight Modes (ASH26)
Floodlight modes help to control and modify the floodlight options built-in on your device. Floodlight modes can only be modified using the Amcrest Smart Home app. There are 3 types of floodlight modes, Motion Activated, Manual, and Schedule Mode:
- Motion Activated - The floodlight will turn on when motion is detected based on Motion Zones set by the user. Please note, this option is on by default.
- Manual - The floodlight can only be turned on manually by the user by using the Light button in the live view menu. Please note, the light will remain on based on the light duration set in this menu.
- Schedule - The light will automatically turn on and off based on a set schedule. Tap Edit Schedule to customize a floodlight schedule.
How to Use a Motion Activated Floodlight Mode
Step 1: Log into your Amcrest Smart Home account and click on the settings ( ) icon.
Step 2: Tap on Floodlight Settings.
Step 3: Tap on Mode to ensure the Motion Activated mode is enabled.
Note: The light sensor is enabled by default while in Motion Activated mode. The light sensor helps to prevent the floodlight from turning on if there is already a lot of light in the surrounding area. Please note, turning this option off will allow the floodlight to always turn on when a motion event is detected by the PIR sensor.
Step 4: Tap on Motion Zones to adjust PIR sensor detection. The motion zones option allows you to manually adjust the PIR sensor zone. The camera's floodlight operates based off PIR detection. Each zone represents a specific area in which the sensor is detecting motion. You can modify specific zones by tapping on a zone. Use the range slider to increase or decrease the amount of PIR range allowed for each specific zone.
Step 5: Tap on Light Duration to adjust how long the floodlight will remain on once a motion is detected. The default duration of the floodlight is 5 minutes. Use the light duration menu to set a different duration. You can choose from 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or 20 minutes. Click OK to set the light duration on your device.
How to Use a Manual Floodlight Mode
Setting the camera in manual mode allows the floodlight to only be turned on manually by the user using the Light option located in the live view menu. The light will remain on, unless manually turned off by the user, for the amounted light duration.
Step 1: Log into your Amcrest Smart Home account and click on the settings ( ) icon.
Step 2: Tap on Floodlight Settings.
Step 3: Tap on Mode to ensure the Manual mode is enabled.
Note: When the floodlight is manually turned on the light will normally stay on for 5 minutes. However, while in Manual Mode the light will stay on for the duration set in the Light Duration menu.
Step 4: Tap on Light Duration to set how long the floodlight will remain on after a motion event occurs. The light duration can be set for 30 minutes, 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The light duration can also be set to “No Limit” which allows the device to remain on unless manually turned off by the user. Click OK to set a light duration.
