A camera connected to an Amcrest NVR can be upgraded through the NVR without having to access the camera directly. This may required local or web access (web UI) to the NVR to upgrade. If you are upgrading locally, the NVR should be hooked up to a monitor and the firmware file will need to be saved to a USB drive and plugged into the NVR.
If upgrading using the web UI, please make sure the computer in use is on the same network as the NVR to upgrade. For more information on how to upgrade the camera firmware through the NVR, please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Download the latest firmware version for your camera to your computer. The latest firmware versions can be found at amcrest.com/firmware
Step 2: Log into your device locally or using the web UI. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here. Once logged in, under Management, select Camera.
Step 3: Click on the Update tab and select the device you would like to upgrade.
Step 4: Click Browse and locate the firmware file you downloaded from the Amcrest firmware download page. Click Online Update and allow the camera to update.
Note: All recording on the camera must be disabled for the upgrade to go through, the camera may also reboot once the upgrade is complete.
