Face detection is used to allow your device to detect face events. This feature can be used either by the NVR or by the camera (if supported). For more information on setting up face detection, please refer to the information provided below.
Note: If using AI by Device, please make sure Smart Codec is disabled in the encode menu. The smart codec can be found in the Coding Strategy dropdown menu.
Step 1: Log into the NVR directly or using the NVR's web user interface (web UI) using a web browser and select AI from the main menu. For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.
Step 2: Select the Face Detection option located in the Parameters tab.
Step 3: In the Type menu select whether face detection will be controlled by the camera or by the NVR. If using by the camera, select AI by Camera, if using built-in face detection, select AI by Device. In this example, we will be using the built-in face detection feature. Click Enable.
Note: If using AI by Camera, please make sure the camera supports this function and a smart plan is enabled on the NVR in the Smart Plan menu.
Step 4: Add any additional notification settings if needed and click Apply.
Viewing a Face Detection Events
To view face events, click the Smart Search option located in the AI menu and select Face Detection. Select an increment of reporting in the Period dropdown menu. If you would like a custom reporting of the events, enter a start and end time into the interface, different attributes such as, gender, age, glasses, etc. can be filtered as well if needed, click Search.
