IVS stands for intelligent video system analytics and provides advanced perimeter protection options such as tripwire and intrusion. IVS features can be controlled by the NVR or by the camera directly if using a smart plan. The NVR has 2 built-in IVS features available (Tripwire and Intrusion) whereas some Amcrest AI cameras may have additional IVS features depending on the model of the camera. For more information on how to use the IVS features, please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log into the NVR directly or using the NVR's web user interface (web UI) using a web browser and select AI from the main menu. For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.
Step 2: Click on IVS. Select if the NVR will use the built-in IVS features from the NVR (AI by Device) or from the camera (AI by Camera). If using AI by camera, please make sure the IVS smart plan is enabled before proceeding. In this example, we will be using AI by Device.
Step 3: Remove the default rule and click the "+" button. Double click the Type dropdown menu and select a rule (Tripwire or Intrusion).
Step 4: Draw the detection area or line on the interface using your mouse and set the parameters of the IVS rule. In the Direction menu, choose which direction the object will enter or exit for the rule to trigger. An object filter can also be applied to detect only human, vehicle, or both.
After applying the parameters, click Apply.
Viewing IVS Events
IVS events can be viewed either in the Search menu as an "I" record type or in the smart search tab located in the Smart Search menu. In the AI menu, click on the smart search option and select IVS. Select an increment of reporting in the Period dropdown menu. If you would like a custom reporting of the events, enter a start and end time into the interface and click Search.
To export a reporting of IVS events, click Export and download the .xls file to your computer.
