If you are currently using Blue Iris version 5, you might be wondering if you need to buy a new license. The good news is that your existing version 5 keys will work with version 6 after installation and updating. There is no need to purchase a new key to upgrade to Blue Iris version 6.
You can manually install version 6 while version 5 is still on your computer. Before upgrading, please make sure to export your settings if needed and import it into version 6 after it is installed. Once you see that version 6 is working you can uninstall the old version to save space. Please note, if you are removing the previous versions of Blue Iris from computer, do not remove any licensing keys or anything other details while removing it.

However, to automatically upgrade an active support and maintenance plan should be applied to your software. To activate this feature, open your current Blue Iris software and check the "About" tab located in the Blue Iris Settings menu. Select Upgrade/renew and select a maintenance plan.
Once a maintenance plan is applied, navigate to the About menu and click Check for update. Select the version 6 entry and click Download and Install to install and upgrade to version 6 automatically using the setup wizard.
