Tripwire allows the camera to trigger an event if an object crosses a set tripwire line. For more information on how to set up a tripwire rule, please refer to the information provided below.
Setting Up a Tripwire Rule
Step 1: Log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here
Step 2: In the web UI, click on Setup>>Event>>Smart Plan. Click on the IVS icon and click Save.
Note: If a Smart Plan is not enabled properly on your camera IVS features will not work. Please make sure to enable the Smart Plan feature before continuing.
Step 3: Click on the IVS option in the Event menu then click on the ( + ) icon to add the rule.
Step 4: Select Tripwire from the Rule Type menu. Then click on Draw Rule to begin drawing the tripwire line on the interface. Use your mouse to draw a line in the interface. Right-click on the interface when done to set the line.
Step 5: In the Direction menu, choose which direction the object will be going for the tripwire to be triggered.
Note: A->B = right to left, B->A = left to right, A<->B an object will be detected from both directions.
Step 6: Enable the Record checkbox to record the event. Click Save when done.
The tripwire rule has now been properly set up for your camera. The target filtering and pixel counter can be used to refine the set rule however for the optimal experience it is highly recommended to leave these settings as default. The IVS event can typically be viewed in the playback menu or a snapshot of the event can be emailed to you if email alerts are set in the device.
