How to Utilize Audio On Your Amcrest NVR

Audio recording and streaming capabilities are a standard part of almost all of the NVRs that we sell. If you are using a camera with built-in audio the NVR will automatically detect the presence of an audio stream. The audio stream should be enabled by default if the camera supports audio however it is highly recommended to verify that audio is enabled on the camera if it is supported.

If you are accessing the NVR through a web UI, audio capabilities will require the use of a plugin. This can be achieved using IE Mode in Microsoft Edge or using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software. For more information on how to utilize audio on your Amcrest NVR please refer to the information provided below.

Note: If an external microphone is being used, ensure the microphone is active and plugged into the Audio In port on the back of the NVR using a mono RCA cable.

Using the Web UI

Step 1: Access the device IE mode (or Internet Explorer) and log in. For more information on how to access your device using IE mode, click here.

Step 2: In the Management menu, click on Camera>>Encode and select the channel you wish to configure.
