Setting Up a Tripwire Rule
Step 1: Log into the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here
Step 2: In the web UI, click on Setup>>Event>>Smart Plan. Click on the IVS icon and click Save.
Note: If a Smart Plan is not enabled properly on your camera IVS features will not work. Please make sure to enable the Smart Plan feature before continuing.
Step 3: Click on the IVS option in the Event menu then click on the ( + ) icon to add the rule.
Step 4: Select Tripwire from the Rule Type menu. Then click on Draw Rule to begin drawing the tripwire line on the interface. Use your mouse to draw a line in the interface. Right click on the interface when done to set the line.
Step 5: In the Direction menu, choose which direction the object will be going for the tripwire to be triggered. An optional object filter can be set for tripwire that will allow the rule only to be triggered if it detects an effective object such as a human or vehicle. You can choose both filters if needed.
Note: A->B = right to left, B->A = left to right, A<->B an object will be detected from both directions.
Step 6: Enable the Record checkbox to record the event. Click Save when done.
The tripwire rule has now been properly setup for your camera. The target filtering and pixel counter can be used to refine the set rule however for optimal experience it is highly recommended to leave these settings as default. All IVS data can be viewed in the Playback menu, if a microSD card has been inserted or can be retained via an Amcrest AI NVR.
