How Often Will the Tracker Report?

The GPS tracker has a built-in accelerometer/vibration sensor that is set to report tracking once motion has been detected. Once motion is detected, it will begin reporting the location and movement of the object being tracked. The reporting interval is set to report every 1 minute by default however, if no motion is detected it will enter motion off/sleep mode and only report every 3 hours to conserve battery life.

Note: To increase efficiency, ensure the GPS tracker has a clear line of sight to the sky and is not blocked any metal obstructions or indoors when in use.

Reporting intervals can be adjusted to increase the accuracy of the reporting intervals. However, please note, increasing the reporting interval may increase the amount of battery life of the GPS tracker. For more information about battery life click here

Step 1: Visit amcrestgps.net and log into your GPS account.

Step 2: In the upper right hand corner of the portal you will see Update Interval Frequency / Battery Life. Click on this menu to access the reporting interval menu.

The reporting interval for your tracker has now been updated.

From this point the tracker will continue reporting based on the frequency you have set. As a reminder, the higher the reporting interval the lower battery life you may experience with your device.
