Smart Motion Detection (SMD) uses an advanced algorithm to differentiate between human and motor vehicle shapes within a scene and send alarms only when a person or vehicle is detected. This option works with motion detection within the system. Please note, this option cannot be activated if face detection or other AI rules are disabled in the system. For more information on how to set up smart motion detection on your system, please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log into the NVR directly or using the NVR's web user interface (web UI) using a web browser and select AI from the main menu. For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.
Step 2: Select SMD in the Parameters menu. Use the object filter option to set the camera to detect human or vehicle events. Both filters can be used simultaneously if needed. Click Enable.
Step 3: A schedule can be applied to a motion event as well, this allows the device to only capture events during a set day and time. Click the Setting menu next to Schedule to customize a motion schedule. The device will be set to detect motion 24/7, however, use your mouse to set the detection times. For instance, in this example we are telling the NVR to record motion only between 6am and 6pm (18:00). Click the Copy option to apply the schedule to different days of the week.
Step 4: Select any other motion settings, the More option will provide additional motion settings to be applied to the system. Once all settings have been set, click Apply.
How To View Smart Motion Detection Events
In the AI menu, click on the Smart Search option and select SMD. Select which channel you would like to view, in the All dropdown menu, select human or vehicle events if needed. Select an increment of reporting in the Period dropdown menu. If you would like a custom reporting of the events, enter a start and end time into the interface and click Search.
Click the Play option to view the event.
