How To Use Face Detection In An Amcrest AI Camera (IP8M-DLB2998EW-AI)

Face Detection is used to detect face events and receive facial image snapshots. To activate face detection, a face detection smart plan must be enabled within the camera. For more information on how to setup face detection please refer to the information provided below. 

Step 1: Open a web user interface (Web UI) of your device and log in. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

Step 2: Click AI from the main menu, and select a general or scheduled plan. A general rule will allow the camera to detect face events 24/7 where as a schedule plan will only allow the camera to capture face events at set times. Click Next. 

Step 3: Select the Face Detection option, then click Next. 

Step 4: Enable the Face Detection option as well as any additional options provided and click Apply.

Note: The detection area can be adjusted if needed using your mouse. Click and drag a corner to adjust the detection area. For a brief description of the options provided in this menu, please refer to the full user manual. 

Step 5: To have an overlay of the number of faces detected, click on OSD Info. 

This will take you to the face statistics overlay menu. Click Enable, and select Apply to save the overlay. 

Face events can sent via email using the Send Email option or using the Playback menu. A microSD card must be inserted in the device to retain the face event data.
