Autofocus on an Amcrest camera, like most cameras, works by automatically adjusting the lens to achieve a clear and sharp image. This model supports auto focus, and 5x optical zoom however it is important to note that it might not be as sophisticated as most traditional auto focus modes found in more high-end PTZ cameras. However, it supports auto, semi auto, and manual focus modes. This allows you to choose the level of control you want while focusing the camera. Step 1: The focus options for your device can be accessed using the web user interface directly for your device. If it is connected to an NVR, please make sure to access the camera's web UI, for more information on how to access the web UI for your camera, click here.
Step 2: Use the Zoom and Focus options to manually zoom in or out and focus the image on the live view screen.
Note: If zooming in or out and the image is blurry press and hold the Focus (-) option to manually focus the image.
Step 3: The focus settings can also be adjusted in the interface if needed. To access these settings, click on Setup>>Configuration>>Focus & Zoom. By default, you will notice the focus mode is set to semi auto. This means the camera will automatically adjust focus only when you use the zoom function.
To set the device to automatically adjust focus, set the Focus Mode to Auto. The sensitivity can be set to default or high depending on the environment being monitored. Once these settings have been saved, click Lens Initialization to optimize the image and adjust zoom and focus accuracy.
