How Do I Know If My Webcam Has Been Properly Installed?

Once the webcam has been inserted into a USB port on your computer the drivers for the device will be automatically recognized. For more information on how to verify if the webcam has been properly installed, please refer to the information provided below. 

Note: The webcam does NOT have its own software and will require third party software to function.

Before proceeding, please ensure you are using the most up to date version of the software you are using to view your camera.

For Windows Users

Step 1: Ensure the device is properly connected to a USB port on your computer. 

Step 2: Access the Computer Management menu on your computer and click on Device Manager and click on the Cameras drop down menu, "USB Camera" should be displayed in this menu.

For Mac Users

Step 1: Ensure the device is properly connected to a USB port on your computer. 

Step 2: Access the Applications menu and click on Photo Booth

The camera can be verified in the main Photo Booth, "Camera" menu in the top banner of the interface. Click on Camera and select USB 2.0 Camera (Default). The live view will be displayed in the interface.
