When accessing your NVR directly using a monitor or TV, it is important to recognize the required resolution set for your specific output device. For instance, if your NVR is a 4K device and is set to transmit at 4K resolution, but the monitor, or output device, you are transmitting the image to does not go any higher than 1080p, then there will be a resolution conflict present and a picture will not be displayed on the monitor properly.
Conversely, if a resolution issue is present on your current system, the issue can be resolved via the NVR's web UI via a laptop or PC. For more information on how to resolve the issue, please refer to the instructions set provided below.
Step 1: Access the web UI for your device and login with the username and password associated with your NVR. If this is your first time logging in, the default username and password will be admin. For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.
Step 2: Click on Display.
Step 3: In the Resolution field, make sure to set the resolution for your device to the proper resolution for your specific output device. For instance, if your output device is only compatible with 720p, you will choose, "1280*720 from the drop down menu.
Step 4: Once you have selected the proper resolution for your output device, click on Save to save and apply the settings to your device.
Note: If you do not save the set settings for your NVR the settings will not apply and the issue will still persist. However, once you have saved your settings, your NVR will then be set to the proper resolution for your output device. Once the resolution output for your NVR has been changed, make sure to reset the output device to produce a picture.
