The configuration of your camera can be set after physical installation and has been properly performed. For more information on how to install and set up your camera click here.
Step 1: Open a web browser and log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here.
Step 2: Click Setup>>System>>General>>Date & Time and ensure the correct date and time are applied to the camera.
Step 3: Click Live and select Config(LPR) and click Zoom. Adjust the the Zoom and Focus sliders until the camera is at the right zoom level for physical setup.
Step 4: Click on the capture area box and adjust the size and shape of the detection area according to the monitored area. Click Save.
Note: It is recommended to adjust the lens so that the width of the plate number is close to 150 pixels. The capture area itself should be no larger than 2/3 the size of the feed. You can also add optional shield areas that avoid looking for license plates. To add a shield area click on the Add button next to Shield Area.
Left click multiple times on the live view to draw the Shield Area box.
If you want to delete a Shield area, left click on it in the live view and then click on Delete
When you are done making changes click on Save at the bottom and then Finish configuration.
Step 5: Drive a vehicle in front of the LPR camera through the detection area to test the license plate capture and recognition setup. If everything is setup correctly the license plate number in the picture of the license plate will match the text in the Obtain Plate Info field.
