How To Disable HDD Buzzer

Amcrest DVR's have feature a built-in security feature that will audibly alert you when an abnormality within the system is detected. These event abnormalities can range from HDD(hard drive) or No Disk errors, Network errors, or User errors such as illegal logins to the system.

In this article you will learn how to disable the HDD buzzer on your Amcrest DVR. This will disable the audible buzzer alert from your system when not using a HDD or if a HDD is not detected properly on the system. For more information on how to disable the HDD buzzer alert on your DVR, refer to the step by step instructions provided below. 

Step 1: From a computer or laptop access the web UI for your device and login with the username and password associated with your DVR/NVR. For more information on how to access your device locally on a laptop or PC, please click here If this is your first time logging in, the default username and password will be admin.

Note: When accessing your DVR/NVR via its web UI on a computer or laptop please only use either Internet Explorer or Safari. Google Chrome and FireFox are currently not a viable option for DVR/NVR access.

Step 2: In the web UI, navigate to the settings menu (gear wheel) in the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on, Alarm.

Step 3: In the Abnormality menu, uncheck the item labeled Enable. This will disable the buzzer noise

Step 4: Once the buzzer checkbox has been disabled, click on the Save button to save your configuration. The DVR's HDD buzzer is now disabled.
