How to Add IP Cameras to a DVR (S5 and Below)

The DVR has the ability to connect an IP camera however, please note the device will only allow a max of 2 IP cameras and will use already set BNC channels in the process. Before adding an IP camera to the DVR, please make sure the IP camera is on the same network segment as the DVR during setup. For more information on how to add an IP camera to your DVR please refer to the information provided below. 

Note: The steps provided in this article are through the web UI in a web browser, however, the same steps can be applied to local setup as well. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

Step 1: Click on the Settingsmceclip1.png ) icon and access the Camera menu. 

Step 2: Click on Channel Type.

Step 3: To add an IP channel, select a channel in the IP column to disable a BNC channel. Please note, the IP channel with be added starting with the last channel in the interface. Click Save

Note: The device may reboot after adding the IP channel. 

Step 4: Click on the Settings icon ( mceclip1.png ) and naviagate back to the Camera menu. Click on Registration

Step 5: Click on Device Search to search for the IP camera you want to add and click on the enable checkbox.

Step 6: Check the camera you would like to add and click on the Add button to add the IP Camera to the DVR.

If the camera has an inactive status (red dot) the password may need to be updated

Updating the Password (IP Camera)

Click on the Edit button.

Ensure your camera settings are properly set and enter the password for your newly added IP Camera. If this is your first time using your camera the username and password will be admin.

Click on Save to save the settings to your camera. If all information was entered correctly, the indicator icon in the Status field will be green. If the status does not change to green, click the Refresh button. If the status is still red, verify the password is correct and refresh.
