How To Add An ONVIF User In An Amcrest Camera

An ONVIF user acts as a dedicated "universal key" that allows your camera to communicate with equipment from different brands. While your main admin account is meant for the camera's own app or web settings, the ONVIF account is a separate security layer specifically designed for third-party systems like NVRs or video management software.

Creating this user tells the camera to open a standardized communication channel, ensuring that outside devices can securely access the video stream without needing full control over your camera’s private system settings. For more information on how to add an ONVIF user to your device please refer to the information provided below.

Step 1: Open the web user interface (Web UI) of your camera using a web browser. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

Step 2: Log in and navigate to Maintain>>Account and select ONVIF User.

Step 3: Click Add. Enter a username and password for the ONVIF user profile. It is highly recommended to keep the username and password the same as the login username and password for your device. Click Apply
