The NVR can register cameras wirelessly or register cameras over the network. Wireless cameras can be paired to the device using wireless pairing. Please note, the Wi-Fi camera does not need to be connected to your network initially to pair it to the NVR. For more information on how to pair a Wi-Fi camera to the Wi-Fi NVR, please refer to the information provided below.
Pairing a Wi-Fi Camera
To pair a Wi-Fi camera, make sure the Wi-Fi camera is within ten feet of the NVR and is powered on. Please note, if the Wi-Fi camera’s password is set to admin (factory default), it may automatically register with the NVR, however, if the camera does not automatically pair with the NVR it will need to be manually paired. To manually pair the camera, click on the Wireless Pairing option located in the remote device menu.
A wireless pairing interface will be displayed and will list all Wi-Fi cameras detected by the system. A pairing countdown will begin, once the countdown is complete, the Wi-Fi cameras detected by the system will be paired and automatically assigned to an open channel. If the camera is not initially displayed in the Add Device menu, click on the Refresh button to refresh the interface, and display the newly added device.
Adding a Camera Over the Network
This can apply to Wi-Fi cameras or PoE cameras that are already registered over the network. Please make sure the NVR is connected to the same network segment as the cameras before applying this method. To register the cameras, click on the Device Search button in the remote device menu and allow the NVR to locate the cameras. Select the device or devices from the interface and click the Add button to add the cameras into the system. If the status of the cameras remains as “red” in the system, click on the Edit button next to the camera and enter the correct password for the camera into the interface and click Save.
