A General Installation Guide On How To Mount An Amcrest Junction Box

The installation of your mount will depend on the specific camera model you are pairing it with, however, here is a general mounting guide that will apply to most installations. Please make sure your camera is compatible with the mount you are using before installing the junction box. Most junction boxes will come with the following items: the junction box, ST4×25 screws, plastic expansion bolts (wall anchors), M4×10 screws, a S3.0 wrench, and a water joint for weatherproofing the cabling.

Step 1: Select a location on a wall or ceiling to mount the box. The location should support at least 3x the weight of the camera and junction box. Use the junction box as a template. Place it against the surface and use a pencil to mark the mounting holes.

Step 2: Use a drill with a bit appropriate for the installation surface such as a masonry bit for brick or concrete, etc., then drill holes at the marks you made in the previous step. Insert the included plastic anchors into the holes.

Step 3: Align the junction box's holes with the anchors you just inserted. Use the three ST4x25 screws to securely fasten the box to the wall or ceiling.

Step 4: Take your camera and align its mounting holes with the threaded holes on the top of the junction box. Use the four M4x10 screws and included wrench to attach the camera to the box.

Step 5: Route the camera's cables through the side of the junction box. Make all necessary connections to the power and network cables inside the box. The junction box is designed to conceal and protect these connections from the weather but the water joint (cable gland) can be installed over the Ethernet cable if needed.
