Using Wide Dynamic Range (IP8M-2597E)

This camera is capable of providing 4K resolution at 30 frames per second (fps). Wide Dynamic range is used to reduce motion blur and helps to produce clearer images. However, please note, if you are using such features it could reduce the fps to cap at 25fps.  This is due to a built-in chipset limitation within the camera. 

Currently, wide dynamic range is off by default, however, if enabled by the user will cap the device to stream at a max of only 25fps. To enable or disable WDR, please follow the instructions provided below. 

Step 1: Log into the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

Step 2: Click on Setup. 

Step 3: Click on BLC Mode located in the camera's Configuration menu.

Step 4: Use the Mode drop down menu to select WDR (wide dynamic range). 

Step 5: Click Save to save your settings. 

Note: Click on the Video option located in the Camera section to verify your current fps. You will notice it is capped at 25fps when WDR is enabled.

To turn off WDR, go back to the BLC Mode section and click on the BLC mode drop down menu. Select OFF from the drop down menu and click Save the save your settings. This will turn WDR off bringing your camera back to 30fps.
