960H
The 960H is a standard for security cameras and security DVRs that provide a wider resolution of 960x480.
650TVL
The 650TVL stands for 650 television lines, meaning it has 325 distinct dark vertical lines and 325 distinct white vertical lines. These lines can be counted over a horizontal span equal to the height of the picture. 650TVL will provide a resolution of 640x480.
In comparison to the 650TVL, the 960H has a 30% increase in detail over standard TVL. The 960H is sharper and shows more image detail in objects and colors, overall making it easier to distinguish objects that are closer together. 960H creates a wide-screen picture that does not need to be stretched to fit wide-screen TV's and monitors like the 650TVL.
