How To Initialize An Amcrest Camera Using An Amcrest NVR

If your Amcrest camera requires to be initialized before adding it to your NVR, the NVR provides a direct  initialization option that will allow you to add and use your device in the NVR. While initializing, please make sure your device, camera, and computer are on the same network and ready to be initialized. For more information on how to initialize a camera through your NVR, please refer to the information provided below. 

Step 1: Open a web browser and access the web user interface (web UI) for your device. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here. 

Step 2: Select Management and click Camera to access the camera registration page.

Step 3: Click Device Search to locate your camera. If the status is registering as an "X" that means it has not been initialized. To initialize it, select the camera and

Step 4: If you would like to use the same password and email information associated with your NVR for your camera you can leave the "Using current device password and email info." option enabled. However, if you would like a separate credentials for your camera, the option can be disabled. Enter and confirm the password you would like for the camera and click Next

Enter the email address as well in the next field and click Next (this part can be skipped as well if needed).

Step 5: Select DHCP for device registration. Click Next to continue.

Step 6: Allow the device to be initialized. Once it has finished, click OK

Step 7: Click Device Search, you will notice the status of your camera will have a green checkmark indicating it is ready to be added to the NVR. Select Add and import it into the NVR.

Step 8: The status will be red indicating the device password will need to be modified within the NVR. Click the Edit icon for your camera, enter the camera's password, and click Save. Select the device and click Refresh, the status will change to green (if the password is entered correctly) indicating it is good to go and initialized within the NVR.

Note: P2P is not initialized using this method, to complete initialization of the camera use the camera's web UI. This is for initializing in the NVR only. For more information on how to complete initialization for your camera, click here.
