How To Use A Crowd Gathering Rule On An Amcrest Camera (IP8M-2899EW-AI-V2)

Crowd Gathering is used to detect a group of people that enter or exit a specific area set by the user on the live view screen. A preset must be established before adding a IVS rule. For more information on how to setup the rule please refer to the information provided below. 

Step 1: Open a web user interface (Web UI) of your device and log in. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

 

Step 2: Access the main menu and click on AI. Click "Please add a preset first".

Note: If a preset is already established, click +Preset to add an additional preset. 

Step 4: Click Add Preset and use the PTZ directional arrows to set a PTZ preset if needed. Click the Apply icon to save the preset then click OK

Step 5: Click +Preset and select the created preset. Select IVS, then click Next

Step 6: Click IVS.

Step 7: Click Add Rule and select Crowd Gathering from the dropdown menu. Use your mouse to draw a detection area on the interface.

By default the rule will be set to trigger if multiple people are within the detection area for a duration of 10 seconds. However, you can adjust the duration if needed from 6 - 300 seconds. Use the sensitivity slider to adjust the amount of people detected before the rule is triggered. The higher the sensitivity the less people are needed in the area before it is triggered.

Step 8: Click Playback to retain events to a microSD card. This will allow you to view IVS events in the playback menu. Select any additional options, such as a siren, which will allow the camera to produce an audible siren, or email to send a notification of the event to an entered email address.
