How To Setup a Deterrent Camera with Active Deterrents, Auto Tracking, and Human/Vehicle Detection (IP8M-2899EW-AI-V2)

This model comes equipped with active deterrent which can be used to scare away unwanted visitors or vehicles captured in the area. These deterrents include a red/blue LED light deterrent, which can flash and a siren once the camera has detected the object.

Active deterrent and auto tracking settings can only be modified on the camera side using a web browser, they cannot be adjusted through an NVR or Amcrest View Pro mobile apps. Features such as auto tracking may be accessible with options such as IVS or other AI options. For more information on how to setup active deterrents, please refer to the information provided below.

Step 1: Ensure the camera is connected to the same network as your camera and access it using the camera's IP address. For more information on accessing the web UI for your device, click here.

Step 2: In the web UI, select AI from the main menu and set any PTZ presets as needed. For more information on setting PTZ presets and rules such as tripwire, click here.

Step 3: Make sure the Auto Tracking option is enabled if using auto tracking, and set the tracking duration if needed, this will be the amount of time the object will be tracked before the operation is complete if the object is not out of frame. By default, the camera will detect both human and vehicles, however it can be set to detect only human or vehicles if needed by disabling an object filter. Click Apply
