How To Set A Vehicle Density Rule (IP8M-MB182E-AI)

The vehicle density option allows the user to set vehicle congestion and parking limit rules. A vehicle congestion rule allows the camera to trigger an event or send a notification if the area exceeds a specified number of vehicles in the area. A parking limit rule allows the camera to trigger an event or send a notification if the number of vehicles parked in a specified area exceeds the specified threshold set in the camera. Step 1: Open the web user interface (Web UI) of your camera using a web browser. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

Step 2: Access the main menu, select AI, and select the Vehicle Density smart plan. Click Next

Step 3: Click the Add Rule button and select Vehicle Congestion to import the rule. Use your mouse to draw the detection area and ensure the Vehicle Congestion Alarm option is enabled. Enter the threshold and duration times of the event. This will be the amount of vehicles detected before the alarm is triggered, as well as the number of minutes the vehicle is detected within the detection area before it is triggered. 

Step 4: Select Event Linkage and click Playback, this will allow the reporting of the events to be retained on a microSD card. Select any other options if needed. Click Apply. 

Setting a Parking Detection Limit

The parking limit rule allows the camera to trigger an event or send a notification if the number of vehicles parked in a specified area exceeds the specified threshold set in the camera.

Step 3: Click the Add Rule button and select Parking Limit to import the rule. Use your mouse to draw the detection area and ensure the Parking Limit option is enabled. Enter the amount of vehicles threshold into the Threshold interface. This will be the amount of vehicles detected in the detection area before the alarm is triggered. 

Step 4: Select Event Linkage and click Playback, this will allow the reporting of the events to be retained on a microSD card. Select any other options if needed. Click Apply. 

Viewing a Vehicle Density Report

A report of the amount of people in the area can be accessed in the Report tab located in the AI menu. Please allow at least 1 hour of reporting to occur before accessing a report. A microSD card must be inserted in the device for it to retain a report. Click on the Vehicle Density option in the report tab.

If you would like to see reporting for the day, click Today, if you would like to see the weekly amount click This Week, etc. To set a custom start and end time, select the calendar option and enter the start and end time of the reporting. Click Search to view the report. 

A report of all data will be displayed. To export this data to your computer, select the file type (.png or .csv) and click Export
