How to Setup Area People Counting (IP8M-B2886EW-AI)

This people counting feature allows the camera to count the number of people entering and leaving the detection area. When the number of counted people exceeds the configured threshold the rule will be triggered. Please note, people counting rules cannot be used simultaneously with IVS, Heat Map, or Face Detection. If using this option in a web browser, the feature will require a plugin to function, it is recommended to use IE Mode on such browsers as Microsoft Edge when using this feature. For more information on how to set up a people counting rule, please refer to the information provided below.

Note: Position the camera in a way the camera can detect all people in the detection area.

Step 1: Log into the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here

Then from the Type dropdown menu, select if the number will be greater than or equal to, less than or equal to, equal to or not equal to the value in the Inside Number field.

Step 5: Enable the Stranding Alarm option if you would like to be notified if an object has been idle in the detection area for a specified number of time. Enter the value into the Stranding Time field (1-1800 seconds).
