The crowd gathering estimation rule is used to detect a group of people that enter or exit a specific area set by the user on the live view screen. For more information on how to setup a crowd gathering rule, please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log into the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here
Step 2: In the web UI, click on Setup>>Event>>Smart Plan. Click on the IVS icon and click Save.
Note: If a Smart Plan is not enabled properly on your camera IVS features will not work. Please make sure to enable the Smart Plan feature before continuing.
Step 3: Click on the IVS option in the Event menu then click on the ( + ) icon to add the rule and select the Crowd Gathering Estimation option from the drop down menu.
Step 4: Click on Draw Rule to begin setting a detection area. Use your mouse to draw an area on the interface.
This rule requires you to draw at least a four point area on the interface to function. To draw an area, click the mouse on the interface and move it down or up to create a line. Once the line is created, move the mouse left or right to create another line and repeat the process. Right click on the interface to set the area on the screen then left click on the interface when done to set the area.
Step 5:Use the sensitivity slider to adjust the sensitivity of the rule. A general formula for the Crowd Gathering Estimation is as follows:
11 – [ Sensitivity Value ] x 3 = # of people required to trigger an event.
For more information on the sensitivity slider hover you mouse of the question mark icon (?) in the interface.
Step 6: Enable the Record checkbox to record the event. Click Save when done.
Note: If you would like an alarm to sound once the rule has been triggered, make sure the Siren option is enabled.
