To access your camera outside of your home or any other place you placed the camera network, (like in a different location from the camera), you will need to enable the DDNS feature in the settings of the device.
Please log into the camera through your laptop or PC at home with the camera and click on
- setup
- network
- DDNS
Now on this screen you have a white box with a drop down arrow. Click on the drop down arrow and select amcrestddns.
-Where you see (Domain Name) it says none or “testhostname”. I would like for you to put a name there. It can be anything( example: camera )
-Please click save.
The next thing you would like for you to do is click on (Connections) and change the HTTP Port to something other then 80. Its has to be 5 numbers. Example 37776, 37779, 64523. Then click save. After you click save. The camera is going to restart. After the camera restart you will then have to put the ip address of the camera in following the HTTP PORT. (example:192.168.0.100:64523). This will then bring you back up to your login screen of the camera.
The 3rd thing you will have to do is port forwarding in your Router. These are the ports you’re going to have to port forward.
http://canyouseeme.org/ This will help determine if port forwarding may be necessary and if ports are open to all remote access. in some cases this may require port forwarding to be done by you and ISP also.

Name Protocol Range
Amcrest HTTP TCP/UDP (This will be what you change port 80 to) (example 64523)
Amcrest TCP TCP 37777
Amcrest UDP UDP 37778
Contact your internet provider and ask them to port forward for you if you are unsure how.
Now to test to see if your DDNS is working I would like for you to get off of your WiFi network and get on to another or a mobile hot spot and type in (example: cameras.amcrestddns.com:64523 )
Once you do this It should bring you up to your login screen for your camera.
A form I use to help keep all this information organized:
Name of Camera- IP address
S/N
Public IP Address
TCP
UDP
HTTP
Local access: http://{IP Address}: {Port}
Remote access: http://{Public IP Address}:{Port}
http://{Domain Name}.{DDNS Server}:{Port} DDNS setup
