What is EIS On An Amcrest PTZ Camera?

EIS, or Electronic Image Stabilization, is a technology that helps to reduce blur and shakiness in images and videos captured by a PTZ camera. It does this by compensating for camera shake and vibrations caused by wind, movement, or other factors.

EIS works by collecting multiple images from the camera sensor and then combining them to create a single, stabilized image. This is done using a variety of algorithms, which can vary depending on the camera's specific implementation of EIS.

EIS is available on a variety of PTZ cameras from Amcrest, including both indoor and outdoor models. It is a popular feature for security cameras, as it can help to improve the quality of footage captured in challenging conditions.

Here are some of the benefits of using EIS on a PTZ camera:

  • Reduced blur and shakiness: EIS can significantly reduce blur and shakiness in images and videos, making them clearer and more stable. This is especially helpful in windy conditions or when the camera is mounted on a moving object.
  • Improved image quality: EIS can also help to improve the overall image quality by reducing noise and artifacts. This is because EIS can help to compensate for uneven exposure and focus.
  • Wider field of view: EIS can also help to widen the field of view of a PTZ camera by reducing the amount of blur at the edges of the image. This is because EIS can help to compensate for camera shake, which can cause the image to become blurry at the edges.

Note: If using EIS on certain models, some intelligent functions, such as auto tracking, will be affected.

If you would like to enable EIS, please refer to the information provided below.

Step 1: Open a web user interface (Web UI) of your device and log in. For more information on how to access the web UI, click here.

Step 2: Navigate to Setup>>Camera>>Configuration>>Picture and select On in the EIS option.
