How To Perform a Factory Reset (IP8M-VD2893EW-AI)

Prior to performing a physical, hard factory reset, it is recommended to first perform a reset via the web user interface (Web UI) of the camera on a computer. This is useful as well if you do not have direct, physical access to your camera. For more information on how to perform a factory reset in the web UI of your camera, click here.

To perform a physical factory reset to this camera, make sure the device is powered on and follow the instructions provided below.

Note: You will need to use the star tool that was included with your purchase to open the camera.

Step 1: Using the star tool, loosen the three screws that are attached to the camera to remove the dome cover. 

Step 2: Locate the factory reset button on the motherboard of the camera. 

Note: You may need to adjust the camera lens to locate the factory reset button. 

Step 3: Press and hold the factory reset switch for 30 seconds allowing the camera to reset. Once reset, the camera will be reverted back to its original factory default settings. The default username and password will be admin.
