How to Utilize the Auto Maintain Feature To Reduce Stream Loss and Increase the Efficiency of An Amcrest Camera

The camera comes equipped with a built-in auto maintain feature which allows the user to set maintenance features such as automatically deleting old files, automatically rebooting the camera, or manually rebooting the camera. These options help to increase the overall efficiency of the camera as well as greatly reduce the risk of stream loss. Step 1: Log in to the web UI for your camera using a web browser. For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.

Step 2: Navigate to Setup>>System>>Auto Maintain.

Step 3: Select which function you would like to activate. 

Auto Reboot

Use the auto-reboot option to schedule a time in which the camera will automatically reboot itself. This will help to ensure stream efficiency and reduce any stream loss. To use this feature, select the Auto Reboot option. Select a day and time in which the auto-reboot will occur and click Save

Auto Delete Old Files

Use this option to set a customized timeframe in which old files will be deleted from a microSD card. The duration can be set in days with a maximum of 31 days. Please note, deleted files cannot be recovered once they are deleted. To use this feature, select the Auto Delete Old Files option and enter the number of days that will be applied for this feature, and click Save. Click OK to confirm.

Manual Reboot

To manually reboot the camera, click the manual reboot option then click OK. The camera will then manually reboot itself, please note, no settings will be deleted or removed after clicking this option, it just reboots the camera. 

Step 4: When complete, click the Save option to ensure the settings are properly saved to the interface.
