How To Setup Active Deterrents (IP8M-DB3946EW-3AI)

This model comes equipped with active deterrent which can be used to scare away unwanted visitors or vehicles captured in the area. These deterrents include a red/blue LED light deterrent, which can flash and a siren once the camera has detected the object.

Active Deterrent settings can only be modified on the camera side directly, it cannot be adjusted if accessing through an NVR or the Amcrest View Pro or Amcrest View Pro 2 mobile apps. These options can be enabled or disabled in the motion detection menu in the web user interface, using a web browser, and are also available for certain AI features such as IVS. Step 1: Log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here.

Step 2: Select and enable a detection feature such as motion detection, AI, etc. 

Step 3: Enable or disable the Siren or Warning Light option to enable active deterrents. Disabling the warning light option will disable the red and blue LEDs from turning on after the feature is triggered. Click Apply to save the settings.

Siren: This checkbox allows the camera to activate the alarm once an event is detected.
Play Count: The amount of time the siren will sound.
Warning Light: This checkbox allows the camera to activate the red/blue LEDs once an event is detected.
Mode: The current mode of the warning light LEDs will be set to flicker only.
Flicker Frequency: The intensity of the warning light LEDs after they are activated. Can be set to high, medium, or low depending on the user’s preference.
Duration: The amount of time the warning LED will flash.
