Connection Issues using TKIP Protocol

TKIP, or Temporary Key Integrity Protocol, was meant to replace the insecure WEP encryption system is found in most Wi-Fi networks. TKIP also turned out to be insecure, so a new standard called WPA2 was created, which uses AES, or Advanced Encryption Standard. AES provides a  much more secure connection because it uses longer encryption keys which increases the efficiency and security of your Wi-Fi connection.

Since TKIP is a legacy protocol, most Wi-Fi Amcrest Smart Home-based devices will require the use of AES encryption when connecting to a Wi-Fi network. Failure to use proper encryption can cause numerous connection issues between your camera and your Wi-Fi network. Many routers today provide WPA2-PSK (TKIP), WPA2-PSK (AES), and WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) encryption as options.
