The tour feature allows you to set up multiple locations for the PTZ to cycle through using preset positions. This feature can be activated manually or automatically using the camera's built-in motion detection feature. Please note, this also applies to smart motion detection (SMD) as well as this feature works with motion detection to detect only when a human or motor vehicle has been detected. For more information on how to set up a tour that will activate only when motion is detected, please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here.
Step 2: Click on Setup and access the PTZ>>Function menu.
Step 3: Use the PTZ control panel to position the camera to its initial preset position. In the Preset menu, click the Add button, then in the Preset Title menu, double click to change the title of the position and click Save.
Note: Repeat the process if additional presets positions are needed. In this example, we have three tour positions.
Step 4: Click on Tour. Click on Add to add the tour to the interface. On the bottom section, click Add to add the additional positions. Double click in the Preset column and select the position preset.
Step 5: Click Save.
Step 6: To set the tour to be activated when motion is detected, click on the Event tab and access the Video Detection menu. Ensure the Enable Manual Control Trigger option is disabled. Click on the PTZ option and select the Tour option from the Activation dropdown menu. Click Save.
Once a motion event is detected, the tour will begin. Each position will last about 15 seconds each and when the tour is over the camera will return to its original position. Smart motion detection (SMD) can be activated as a filter to detect only when a human or vehicle is detected if needed.
To activate SMD, click on the Smart Motion Detection option located in the Event tab. Enable the feature and select an effective object filter (Human/Motor Vehicle). Click Save.
