How To Search for a Device Using Amcrest View Pro

If you have initially set up a camera on your network and would like to search and add it into the Amcrest View Pro app, please refer to the steps provided below. 

Step 1: Connect your camera and your mobile device to the same network and open the Amcrest View Pro app.

Step 2: In the View Pro app, click on the (+) symbol and Add Device to access the Select Device Type menu. Then, in the Select Device Type menu, tap on Search Device

Step 3: Tap on Search Devices and allow the app to automatically search the network for your IP device.

A device list will appear with all connected devices present. Select the device you wish to add from the list and click on Connection Type.

Step 4: If you are connecting to a PoE device, tap on P2P Setup. If you would like to add the device using an already setup DDNS address, tap on IP/Domain/DDNS, if you are setting up a WiFi camera, tap on Ethernet WiFi Setup.

PoE (P2P) Setup

Enter a name for your device in the Device Name field. This will be defaulted to the S/N of the device but can be changed. Next, type in the password for your device. If this is your first time adding the device, the username and password will be admin. Once complete, tap on Start Live View to view your camera.

IP/Domain/DDNS Setup

Ensure the address and port number for your DDNS connected device is properly set. Next, type in the password for your device. If this is your first time adding the device, the username and password will be admin. Once complete, tap on Start Live View to view your camera.

Ethernet WiFi Setup

Enter a name for your device in the Device Name field. This will be defaulted to the S/N of the device but can be changed. Next, type in the password for your device. If this is your first time adding the device, the username and password will be admin, tap Next to continue.

Select the SSID for your WiFi network from the network list and type in the WiFi password. Tap Next to continue and allow the app to connect to the camera.

To view your camera on WiFi, remove the Ethernet cable from the camera and wait 30 seconds, then tap Start Live View to view your camera.

You will now be able to view your camera in the Amcrest View Pro app!
