How To Use Face Detection

Face Detection is typically used in conjunction with an AI NVR, however, can be used independently to detect faces. The Face Detection feature cannot be used simultaneously with IVS and/or Heat Map rules. These plans must be disabled in the Smart Plan menu before the Face Detection rule can be used. For more information on how to setup Face Detection on your camera, please refer to the information provided below.

Step 1: Log into the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here

Step 2: In the web UI, click on Setup>>Event>>Smart Plan. Click on the Face Detection icon and click Save.

All face detection events can be viewed in the Playback menu if a microSD card has been installed. If using a microSD card in your camera it must be properly formatted to FAT32 to function properly. For more information on how to properly format a microSD card to FAT 32, click here.

Email snapshots of the event can also be sent if email setup is setup on your camera. For more information on how to setup email snapshot, click here.
