Amcrest View Pro Setup (PoE Camera)

How To Setup A PoE Camera Using The Amcrest View Pro App

Once your Amcrest IP Camera is initially set up on the internet (either using an ethernet cable or if it is connected over Wi-Fi), it can be easily accessed on other smartphone devices using a method called P2P (Peer to Peer). The steps to adding a camera using this method are outlined below:

Step 1: Ensure your device is powered on and is connected to the internet using either an Ethernet cable directly to your router.

Step 2: If you haven't already, download the Amcrest View Pro app on the app store or Google Play store. Once downloaded, open the app and tap on the icon in the top left-hand corner and select Device Manager.

Step 3: Next, tap on the icon on the top right-hand corner that resembles a + icon or the Add Device" option. You will then have the ability to choose a device type.

Step 4: Next, you will need to select your device type. In this case, we will select "PoE Camera" since the camera is powered through PoE.

Step 5: Next, you will need to configure the connection type. In this case we will choose P2P Connection since we are establishing a P2P connection for our camera.

Step 6: Next you will need to scan the QR code for the camera. The QR code can be found on the serial tag along with the scan able barcode. Your mobile device will enable it's camera to scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera.

If the QR code is not able to scan you can also enter in the serial number manually. Your mobile device will enable it's camera to scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera.

Step 7: Once the data is entered into the app you will be taken to a camera login screen. In this menu you can create a name for your camera. Also you will need to enter in the username and password associated with your camera.

If this is your first time setting up your camera, the default username and password is admin

Once this information is entered, tap the Start Live Preview button and you should start seeing live video.
